About
I am passionate about harnessing AI to drive transformation across fields. With over six years of experience, my work spans scientific simulations, computer vision, and social sciences, with applications in space, medicine, and automation.
Currently, I serve as a Founding Member and Head of Research at Birla AI Labs, an applied AI initiative within the Office of Ananya Birla at the Aditya Birla Group. At our lab, we are developing cutting-edge forecasting models and generative AI solutions for the EdTech sector, with plans to expand into new research domains. My journey here builds on a strong academic foundation, including a PhD (supported by the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions fellowship) and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Luxembourg, where my pioneering work on surrogate modeling for numerical simulations received the Excellent Thesis Award (award link) and recognition from top universities, as well as research labs at Meta and DeepMind (Publications). Prior to joining Birla AI Labs, I also worked as a Computer Vision Engineer at Circu Li-ion, where I developed AI-powered vision systems to automate the robotic disassembly of electric vehicle battery packs.
Back in the day, I spent two wonderful years as a Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). I graduated with an integrated bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering (specialisation in product design) from IIT Madras in 2017. I have also spent a semester at the Technical University of Munich.
